Celebrating our player milestones

Warrandyte players celebrate 50 games with red and white balloons.

From first 50-game medals to 250 games in red and white, Warrandyte Netball Club had plenty to celebrate across August and September.

These milestones recognise years of turning up, learning, supporting teammates and enjoying the game. Congratulations to everyone who reached a new milestone in our Saturday and Tuesday social competitions.

250 games: Sarah

Sarah recently celebrated an outstanding 250 games for WNC. She joined the club in Under 9s, starting in the tartan skirt and playing through two club uniform changes.

Along the way, Sarah played representative netball with the association then known as DDNA and continued playing Saturday Opens netball at Templestowe until 2024. More recently, she has enjoyed the Tuesday social competition with many of her longtime WNC netball friends.

150 games: Alannah, Amelie and Norah

Alannah reached 150 games on 22 August after beginning her WNC journey in NetSetGO. As well as playing for Warrandyte, she represents Manningham, was selected for Chisholm in 2025 and umpires at Templestowe. She has also filled in for our Tuesday social teams and played with Warrandyte Football and Netball Club’s White team this season.

Amelie also celebrated 150 games in August. She joined WNC in Under 9s and has continued to develop her game through club netball and representing Manningham.

Norah played her 150th WNC game on 12 September. With the club since Under 9s, she also umpires, represents Manningham and fills in for our Tuesday social teams.

100 games: Rosalie, Eva, Olive, Chloe and Lani

Player and coach Rosalie celebrated 100 games in early August — a chance to recognise both her netball and her contribution to the club.

Round 5 on 15 August brought four more 100-game celebrations for Eva, Olive, Chloe and Lani. It has been wonderful to watch their skills and confidence grow over the years. Olive and Lani have also continued developing their netball through the Manningham representative program.

First 50-game medals

There were plenty of first milestone medals to celebrate, too:

Our Saturday players reaching 50 games included Abbey, Ella, Scarlett, Sadie, Teagan, Zoe, Grace, JoJo, Annie, Emily, Ava, Ruby, Steph and Evie. Sisters JoJo and Annie and twins Ella and Emily shared in the celebrations, alongside club captain Ruby.

In the Tuesday social competition, Rhiannon, Sue, Liz, Emma H and Emma S received their 50-game medals on 18 August.

Teagan, Zoe and Grace marked their milestone together with a thrilling one-goal win over Eltham Panthers. In the Tuesday competition, the celebrations reflected the family connections that make WNC special, with many players also cheering on daughters playing for the club.

Whether it is game 50 or game 250, every milestone is worth celebrating. Well done to all our players, and thank you to the teammates, coaches, families and volunteers who have been part of their journeys.
