Four premierships cap Warrandyte Netball’s 2026 autumn season

 ·

With four premierships, eight grand finalists, and a vibrant 9U and Woolworths NetSetGO junior program, Warrandyte Netball Club has rarely looked healthier than it does after this autumn season.

Our Quokkas topped the 9U Blue ladder undefeated with a percentage of 1060, and our Bilbies topped the 9U Red ladder with a single loss. At the other end of the age groups, WNC won all three 17U premierships, including a grand final between two Warrandyte teams.

But the results tell only part of the story. What this season really shows is a club in good health from top to bottom, with players staying in the game season after season and a growing, welcoming base of young players coming through.

A premiership at every level

The 13U/1 Kangaroos went through the year undefeated, capping it with a one-goal grand final thriller. They led 7:1 at quarter time and held on against a fast-finishing Deep Creek Jades to win 22:21, with Ella G named MVP.

The 17U age group was where Warrandyte truly left its mark, sweeping all three sections.

The 17U/2 Kookaburras went through the season undefeated and finished with a dominant 35:15 win over the EDNC Plutos. The 17U/1 Magpies came from behind to beat the EDNC Supernovas 25:21, a third premiership in a row for many of those players.

The 17U/3 grand final was a special club occasion, with both finalists wearing Warrandyte red and white. The Parrots led from start to finish to win 19:6, in a match that featured four members of the Kennedy family — Emily, Grace and Ruby as players and their mother Kate as coach.

Built from the ground up

For all the drama of grand final day, the most important work happens at training and in our clubrooms. We are particularly proud of our junior program, where our NetSetGO and 9U players come together to give our youngest players the best possible start.

This term’s NetSetGO group came together with our 9U teams from eight different local primary schools, and watching friendships form across so many schools is one of the most rewarding parts of the program. That sense of community was on full display recently when close to fifty NetSetGO and 9U players packed into the clubrooms for an end-of-season pizza night.
