Our Commitment

Warrandyte Netball Club is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people participating in our sport and to implementing the 11 Child Safety Standards.

We support the rights of children and young people and will act to ensure our club is a safe environment for them at all times.

We also support the rights and wellbeing of our volunteers and encourage their active participation in building and maintaining a secure environment for all participants.

Our club proudly upholds a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and is dedicated to ensuring that all children feel safe, supported, and respected. We have clear policies and procedures in place to promote child safety and to respond swiftly and appropriately to any concerns.

Volunteer Screening

All volunteers at Warrandyte Netball Club, including coaches, team managers, and committee members, are required to hold a valid Working With Children Check.

What We Expect

Everyone at Warrandyte Netball Club should be:

  • Welcomed, comfortable and safe.
  • Looked after in a caring environment.
  • Empowered through relationships with club volunteers and peers.
  • Exposed to positive and affirming experiences both on and off the netball courts.

All children associated with the club are appreciated and valued.

A Message for Young Players

  • It is always okay to tell someone if you are not feeling comfortable or safe, or if you have been hurt physically or emotionally.
  • If you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable, we will listen to you and act to help you.
  • It is okay to say NO to an adult if they ask you to do something that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
  • It is not okay for anyone to hurt your feelings or your body.
