Netball pathway at Warrandyte Netball Club

Woolworths NetSetGO (Ages 5 to 10)

The perfect starting point. Fun, non-competitive sessions during school terms at our Taroona Avenue courts in Warrandyte. Kids learn to catch, throw, and play through games. No experience needed.

  • Net (ages 5-6): basic motor skills and group play
  • Set (ages 7-8): passing, defending, and modified games
  • GO (ages 9-10): game sense, positional play, and shooting

Junior Teams (9 and Under to 17 and Under)

Saturday competition at Manningham Templestowe Leisure Centre. Players are graded by age and ability through annual grading trials, and every team has qualified coaches and regular training sessions.

Age groups: 9U, 11U, 13U, 15U, and 17U. Players in the GO stage of NetSetGO can also play 9U competition as an additional option.

Teams are selected through grading trials before each season. Our selection policy explains how criteria change at each age group, from participation-focused at younger ages through to performance-based at older levels.

Senior Teams (21 and Under and Opens)

Saturday netball for adults. Whether you played as a junior and want to keep going, or you’re picking up the sport for the first time, we’ll find you a team. Senior teams are self-organised, so it’s a social and flexible way to play.

21U is a great option for players transitioning from juniors who want to keep playing with their friends.

Tuesday Night Social Competition

A more relaxed mid-week option. Indoor games on Tuesday evenings at Manningham Templestowe Leisure Centre. Teams are organised informally rather than through the club, so it’s easy to get a group together or join an existing team.

Fees (2026)

  • Woolworths NetSetGO (ages 5-10): No club fee. $99 Netball Victoria membership (includes welcome pack).
  • Junior Saturday (9U-17U): $200 per season + $73 NV membership if not already paid.
  • Senior Saturday (21U/Opens): $170 per season + $94 NV membership if not already paid.

Netball Victoria membership includes insurance and is paid once per calendar year, covering both seasons. See our registrations page for full details.

Seasons

We play two seasons per year: autumn (February to late June) and spring (July to late November). Registrations open before each season.

Returning to Netball?

Plenty of our senior players took years off and came back. You don’t need to be match-fit on day one. The Opens and 21U teams cater to a range of abilities, and the Tuesday night social competition is another great way to ease back in. If you last played as a teenager, you might be surprised how quickly it comes back.

Representative Netball

From the 11 and Under age group, players can trial for Manningham representative teams. Rep players train and compete at a higher level, with pathways to the Manningham Netball Association Championships and selection for the Chisholm Region team at the Netball Victoria State Titles.

Warrandyte has a strong history of rep selection. In 2026, around 30 of our players were selected for Manningham and other rep teams, with three going on to represent Chisholm at the State Titles.

What Makes WNC Different

A real community. We’re a club where families know each other by name. Our presentation days regularly draw 200+ people, not because they have to be there, but because they want to be.

Coaching where it counts. From NetSetGO volunteers who train through Netball Victoria to experienced coaches guiding our junior teams, players get proper coaching and attention at every level.

A pathway that goes somewhere. Our players have progressed from NetSetGO through Saturday competition to representing Manningham at the Association Championships and Chisholm at the State Titles. When Melbourne Mavericks players Amy Parmenter and Jessie Grenvold visited our club, they talked about how every elite career starts at a local club like ours.

More than 50 years of netball. Founded in the early 1970s, Warrandyte Netball Club has been part of the Warrandyte community for over half a century. We’ve grown from a handful of teams to one of the strongest clubs in the Manningham Netball Association.

Free resources for everyone. Our Netball Guide covers everything from rules and positions to drills and umpiring, available to anyone, not just our members.
