Sierra wins State Title with Chisholm

 ·  ·

Congratulations to Warrandyte Netball Club’s Sierra, who helped the Chisholm 17U team claim the Victorian State Title this weekend.

Chisholm and Jika were clearly the two standout teams of the tournament, with Chisholm winning 15 of their 17 round robin games and both teams finishing three games clear of the rest of the field. They had tied when they met during the group stage and were separated by just 10% on goal average after the round games.

Fittingly, the grand final matched the quality of the two teams. After three days and 19 games of competition, it came down to extra time, with Chisholm holding their nerve to beat Jika 16-14 and be crowned State Premiers.

Selection in the Chisholm Region squad is a significant achievement in itself. To then go through the tournament and win the state title puts it on another level.

Everyone at the club is incredibly proud of you, Sierra.
