Sophie and Imogen win MNA umpiring awards

Sophie Imogen umpire awards

Congratulations to Warrandyte Netball Club’s Sophie and Imogen, who were both recognised at Manningham Netball’s annual Community Awards on Saturday night.

Sophie received the Umpire Development Award and Imogen received the Umpire Achievement Award. To have two WNC players recognised for their umpiring in the same year is a proud moment for the club.

The full list of 2025 Community Award recipients:

  • Volunteer of the Year: Mark Dunning
  • Umpire of the Year: Kelsey Paterson
  • Umpire Development Award: Sophie Shaw (WNC)
  • Umpire Achievement Award: Imogen Hughes (WNC)

Umpiring is one of those roles that keeps the game running but doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. At WNC, players can begin their umpiring journey from the 15 and Under age group, and Sophie earned her C Badge umpire accreditation earlier this year.

The Community Awards night is always a great opportunity to come together and celebrate the contributions people make to netball across the Manningham Netball competition, both on and off the court. Congratulations to all the award recipients.
