Warrandyte Netball Club brought home two premierships in the 2009 Spring season, with tight grand final wins to the Under-13 Sunbirds and Open B Hawks.
The Sunbirds edged Donvale Dingoes 19-17 in a thriller, with coach Stephanie Natsis praising her team’s defenders and the composure of the goal shooters under pressure. “Our centre court worked so hard and tirelessly. It really was a wonderful team effort,” Natsis said.
The Hawks held on against East Doncaster Jets 22-20, having established an early lead and held firm as the Jets rallied. Coach Lyn Dyason praised it as a great overall team effort.
The 15U Rosellas and 17U Kangas both reached their grand finals as runners-up, with four Warrandyte teams contesting the big day.
