Juniors on the big stage
Warrandyte Netball Club’s youngest players had an extraordinary weekend when our 9 and Under, 11 and Under, and 13 and Under teams played at John Cain Arena before the Melbourne Mavericks took on the Sydney Swifts in Suncorp Super Netball.
For many of our juniors, it was their first time inside the arena and they got to play on the same court where the best netballers in the country compete every week. The excitement was obvious from the moment they walked through the tunnel.
A big weekend for the club
The John Cain Arena experience capped off a huge weekend for Warrandyte Netball Club that also included eight grand finals and it was one of those weekends that remind you why community netball matters.
Some of these players have just started their netball journey at Woolworths NetSetGO sessions and Saturday games at Templestowe. To see them playing on a Super Netball court is a proud moment for the club, their coaches, and their families.
Thank you
A big thank you to the Melbourne Mavericks for making this possible. Opportunities like this show our juniors where the game can take them and give them a story they’ll be telling for years. We will continue to believe it was our support that helped the Mavericks win in an upset result against the Sydney Swifts later that evening!
