Amy Parmenter and Jessie Grenvold visit WNC

 ·

A special afternoon at Taroona Avenue

On Sunday, Warrandyte Netball Club celebrated the conclusion of the autumn season and welcomed the spring season with a visit from two Melbourne Mavericks Super Netball players.

Amy Parmenter, captain of the Melbourne Mavericks, and teammate Jessie Grenvold spent the afternoon at our Taroona Avenue courts running a skills session and Q&A with our junior players. They shared their netball journeys, talked about what it takes to play at the highest level, and spent time chatting with players and answering questions.

From Saturday netball to Super Netball

Amy has captained the Mavericks since their inaugural Super Netball season and is one of the most recognisable players in the competition. Jessie was elevated from training partner to the full squad during the 2025 season after strong performances — proof that hard work and persistence pay off at every level.

Having two active Super Netball players talk openly about their careers gave our juniors a real sense of what’s possible. The pathway from Woolworths NetSetGO and Saturday competition through representative netball to the elite level is something we talk about often but hearing it directly from players who’ve lived it makes it tangible.

More than a skills session

The afternoon was also a chance for players and families to come together as we transition between seasons. Players met their new spring teammates and coaching staff, and the turnout was fantastic. Events like this are a big part of what makes our club community strong.

Thank you to Amy and Jessie for giving our players a glimpse of where the game can take them and to all the families who came along to make it such a great day.
